Good Lord, ADAPT. Changes happen in every game, and no change is going to please everyone. Regardless of the changes, theres very little that the devs can actually change that the players have NO ability to cope with by changing tactics... Yes I know, for those poor picked on farmers it means they may need to do something other than what they've been doing over and over and over... the sky is falling....

Okay, before I go finish my paper:
Look. Anet has their reasons for changing. And of course, the update made huge changes that threw off people from what they are used to. But that's the thing. Used to it. Not used to change. Adapt and overcome, really. This just makes the game more challenging, and makes more of the "unused" professions, come out more. This makes more players become more flexible, and more open-minded to different sets of skills.
If the majority of the people dislike this, why not come together and do a petition? Or discuss about it in another way?
People, this is the first night, and we are all coming to fast conclusions. Why not play for a few days, weeks, and see how it turns out? Obviously this update makes a lot of people mad, but I say we just wait it out for a bit, and see what happens. Lots of pros and cons are coming up in this. But in my opinion, I say close this thread for now. Because there's a whole lot more to come, yes? And it feels like the people arguing in here bring it back in a circle over and over.
Good night! And good luck to you guys.

So who's complaining? The fire Ele's, and only the fire Ele's. Oh, and the farmers. I'll admit I used my Me/Mo to farm a little, but I'm not addicted to it like some seem to be.
Now Warriors and Rangers will have to cripple/knockdown. An elementalist will have to Deep Freeze while another elementalist uses fire nukes. Now Mesmers will have to carry Imagined/Ethereal Burden.
OH MY GOD, TEAMWORK, HOW DARE THEY TRY TO MAKE IT PART OF THE GAME.
I say good update, ANet. Keep 'em coming.
BTW, I play PvE exclusively, and I have an ele. I still love it.
|
Ok,so you're saying that teamwork wasnt part of the game before.Okay lets see a war or ele go and rush in and try to kill a group of lvl 24 mobs. Not very pretty.

I'm GLAD I didn't finish buying those Monk Smiting skills for my Ranger/monk then...Just balt's spirit and aura bought so far for smiting. Good waste of 2k now that I can never do anything with them even if I wanted to.

now you don't like the game b/c now you have to change the build. LOL, so what exactly do you want? When you get you'll complain about that.
use your brains for once. this isn't too much of a change and the bugs will be worked out. the devs can make w/e changes they want to when every they want to. if it doesn't work out they way they wanted to then it will be changed. you can't be completely sure they ment for 1 shot AOE spells to be affected by the AI. you change one thing you get something unexpected. it is way too early to judge how much of a change this will be. from what i've played it hasn't changed much.
the thing that gets me is that people are complaining about them foes RUNNING. are you kidding me!!!! if they are running they are not attacking you or trying to chase you down. so now all my aoe skills have turned into don't attack me for 10 seoncds. don't see a downside here since majority of ele spells are ranged.
best nukers on game are not even ele. get over and learn new tricks.

Point-by-point:
You clearly never played Diablo II. In order to play, you had to allocate your attribute/skill pts. a certain way from the very beginning (no refund points), and had to have a very specific set of difficult-to-find items in order to have a viable build. If you didn't Ebay the items or find them by magic, you were laughed out of the game. LOL all you want, but that game was the longest, slowest disappointment in my gaming life. If GW turns into that, I will never come back.
Enough people are complaining that clearly it IS a big change.
Ele AoE spells have a long enough cast time that they can't just act as bug spray reliably.
I didn't take an Ele because I wanted to nuke, I took it because Fire spells looked fun. As if I would delete my level 20 E/Mo just so I could grind another character thru PvE only to have it nerfed again.
Sadly, all you've managed to display is your inability to take another's perspective, or intelligently respond to counterarguments. Don't tell me to "use my brains" as if I have none -- that's just base and insulting. I played this game because it was a relaxing way to de-stress after a long day. With the amount of frustration I'm feeling over this, it just doesn't seem worth it.

Another thing. Only 6 hours ago, I purchased another account, specifically to create another few farming characters, and play things I never have before. They completely tossed my enthusiasm to play the game out the window. The frist $50 I spent on the game was well worth it. The last $50 was a complete waste of money, unless they take this one off. I really hope they do.

Major question though:
Does Barrage make them scatter - if it does - Its worth running now just for the Mob group scattering advantages (breaks up their attacking for a second, and can redirect aggro).

Lauren Lockheart is now a full-blown Water Mage. I finally got Ice Spikes and shut down her Fire Department completely.
This may be revenge for Air Magic users and other people with single enemy spells too.
I suppose while I'm at it, I'd better just let everyone know that I've never played the Diablo series or any of the other classic MMORPGs. I came to Guild Wars from RP servers on Neverwinter Nights.

This will make farming harder and people with AOE effect damage solo builds poorer. There will be less money to go around, so pricies might fall a bit.
The best sollution to the virgoods problem, imho? Introduce gold rewards for quests and the like (only for new quests, of course). This will make the distribution of wealth more equal for most PVE players and making bots that finish quests will be hard. And the sweatshop farmers will only be able to do farm gold from quests once per character (obliging them to level a character up if they want to do it more often).

price might fall abit? i am thinking about the opposite
price will fall on fire weps and stuff
prices on other items will go up cuz there is no more farmers
see the point?
